Phill & Carmen's Wedding | The Wood Norton Hotel, Evesham | Wedding Photography Blog by scott stockwell

www.ss-photo.co.uk

As promised another wedding from last year, this time its Phill & Carmen’s Wedding at The Wood Norton Hotel. A Beautiful looking country Hotel overlooking the Worcestershire countryside, the building itself almost looks like it could be found somewhere in France.

The day started off at Carmen’s parents house, with Carmen and her bridesmaids getting ready and her dad offering me a cup of tea (always a good start), then showing off his boxing medals to me which were pretty impressive. Once ready we all headed to the venue where Phill was patiently waiting while his groomsman figured out how to put their buttonholes on! The ceremony all took place outside and of course the weather was perfect with blue skies. Amazing day, I will let the photos tell you what happened the rest of the day.

I wish Phill & Carmen all the best for the future, thank you for letting me be part of your day! :)

Mitch & Chloe's Wedding | Glewstone Court, Ross-on-Wye | Wedding Photography Blog by scott stockwell

www.ss-photo.co.uk

I have no excuse but I have totally been neglecting this blog. Time to clear the cobwebs with a post about Mitch & Chloe’s wedding at Glewstone Court near Ross-on-Wye from last year. When I arrived the day started off as most British days do with a bit of rain and wind. Despite this Chloe and her bridesmaids didn’t seem too bothered as they were popping open prosecco and laughing at old photos of Chloe.

Once at the church to meet Mitch he seemed pretty relaxed and ready to go, even when Chloe arrived thirty minutes fashionably late! Once the ceremony had finished Mitch & Chloe and their guests headed back to Glewstone court. The whole day had a great atmosphere and the weather even brightened up for Chloe & Mitch later on giving us some time for a few more photos in the vineyards. Ill let the photos tell you the rest of the story!

Awesome day, I wish Chloe & Mitch all the best for the future!

More blog posts from last year to come ;)

End to 2018 | The wedding photos you didn't see | Scott Stockwell Photography by scott stockwell

Like last years end of year blog post instead of showing you my best shots which you can find in my portfolio or over on my facebook page, I’m going to be showing you MY favourite photos from a variety of weddings I have shot this year. The shots which might have stopped me in my tracks while editing in Lightroom and made me smile!

Over the past two years I can say without a doubt my photography style and taste has changed quite a lot and I love capturing candid shots of the whole wedding party. Not only are these shots harder to capture but they are so much more rewarding for me to look at and I know my clients love them as much as I do (I hope!). I feel these sort of photos help built such a better picture and story of a wedding day as a whole.

As an end of year note to myself here and for others to read; I remember starting out my photography business back in 2014 and being so captivated in trying to achieve the latest wedding photography look or style almost like a fashion trend in the industry, which wasn’t mine or me. Even looking for expensive photography gear to help achieve the sharpest image or best colours. Which is important in some respects yes…. but really its not. What you capture is important and what the image portrays to the viewer. Finally understanding this has definitely helped me progress my business and myself as a photographer.

Anyway before I bore you all, I’m looking forward to 2019 as its going to be another busy year for me and I can’t wait to share my of my work with you all :)

Heres some of the photos you didn’t see this year (probably) and all pose free

Dan & Gemma's Autumn Wedding | Hyde House, Stow-on-the-Wold, Cheltenham | Wedding Blog by scott stockwell

I love a good autumn wedding with the greenery turning into a nice amber colour and especially if its a nice sunny dry day which is exactly what Dan & Gemma were lucky enough to have. Hyde house is located out in the heart of Cotswolds surrounded by beautiful countryside, a perfected backdrop for any photo.

The reds, whites and greens used for the brides bouquet, table centre pieces and button holes worked really well with the outside autumn colours. The whole day had a great atmosphere throughout and I can tell Dan & Gemma have a great set of family & friends. I'll let the few photos below tell you the story of their day. Otherwise I wish Dan & Gemma all the best for the future :)

Dan & Lizzie's Wedding | Stanbrook Abbey, Callow End, Worcester | Wedding Blog by scott stockwell

www.ss-photo.co.uk

Dan & Lizzie's wedding was held at Stanbrook Abbey which was actually an old monastery and home to an order of the Benadictine nuns for over 150 years and therefore full of history. On the day when walking towards Lizzie to find her its so easy to get lost in the beautiful long corridors. I took photos of both Lizzie & Dan getting ready and to be honest they both seemed quite relaxed.

The ceremony took place in the Great Hall which seated Lizzie & Dan's guests around the outside of the room leaving a nice big walkway for Lizzie and her bridesmaids to walk down which I think worked really well. The ceremony was then followed by drinks and canapés a few group photos and some casual photos of Dan & Lizzie around Stanbook Abbey's grounds.

Dan & lizzie are a lovely couple and I wish them both all the best for the future!

Josh & Carlie's Wedding | Wyck Hill House, Stow-on-the-wold, The Cotswolds, Gloucestershire | Wedding Blog by scott stockwell

www.ss-photo.co.uk

I had a great time shooting Josh & Carlie's wedding back in September at Wyche Hill House surrounded by the beautiful Cotswolds countryside. The day started off with Carlie getting ready in the bridal suite with Prosecco flowing. The room had a nice window with lots of natural light shining into the room perfect for a few snaps of Carlie in her beautiful dress.

The ceremony room was a perfect fit for Josh & Carlie's wedding party with no seats spare. Josh hid it well but I could tell he was nervous, although the nerves soon disappeared after seeing Carlie walk down the isle in her dress. Once the ceremony was over the skies soon cleared and the sun was out in all its glory ready for some alcoholic beverages out on the garden.

A Lovely day and I wish Josh & Carlie all the best! I have posted a few shots of their day below :)

Matt & Sarah | Aston Marina, Stone, Staffordshire | Wedding Blog by scott stockwell

www.ss-photo.co.uk

The day started at Matt's parents home, where Sarah and her band of bridesmaids were getting ready. I then joined Matt who was waiting nervously at Stafford Elim Christian Centre. The nerves soon seemed to disappear as soon as he saw Sarah walking down the aisle towards him. It was very atmospheric with music playing throughout the ceremony.

Once the ceremony finished guests enjoyed food & beverages at Aston Marina in the boat house. A lovely venue nestled in the Staffordshire countryside with a marina proved a perfect backdrop for photos. A break in the clouds was welcome as well as catching photos during some picturesque golden hour light taking us into the evening.

It was a pleasure to capture Matt & Sarah's great energy and I wish them both the best for the future :)

Steven & Andrea's Wedding | Birmingham city centre | Wedding Blog by scott stockwell

www.ss-photo.co.uk

I didn't shoot bridal preparations for this wedding although instead I joined Steven and the majority of his wedding party at The Alchemist Bar In Birmingham which was a nice change. I loved shooting the relaxed atmosphere while the guests enjoyed a drink and capturing Steven nervously taking sips from his whiskey glass :)

The Birmingham Registry office was just around the corner where Andrea arrived looking stunning! After the ceremony we made our way over to Marco Pierre White Steakhouse for the wedding breakfast which has amazing views over Birmingham. This was then followed by a trip to Sutton Park Where we did a few more shots of Steven & Andrea on their own. Steven chose this beautiful spot to propose to Andrea, it was nice that Steven & Andrea were willing to take the extra time away from their guests for a few snaps at this location. The finishing stop was The Green House where guests were welcomed by an open bar and band playing through out the night.

Great day with amazing atmosphere throughout, I wish you both the best for the future!
